Washington DC Young Republicans

washington-dc-young-republicans

The DC Young Republicans (DCYRs) is an organization of individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 committed to supporting Republican causes in the nation’s capitol.

Our mission is fourfold:

• To provide grassroots support for conservative issues and Republican candidates, both locally and nationally;

• To attract young people to the Republican party by providing engaging and insightful activities and material to our members;

• To provide training to young Republicans, and;

• To offer young Republicans the platform they need to become the leaders of today, not just those of tomorrow.

We take part in Republican activities in the DC community, everything from collecting goods for charity to registering voters, to campaigning for Republican candidates. Our Organization provides its members a unique opportunity to meet decision makers and to get to know like-minded individuals in and around DC. We are active in DC proper, the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area, and on the national level.

The DCYRs general meetings are on the second Monday of every month at the Capitol Hill Club. Our meetings feature prominent guests, who speak on issues of prime importance to young Republicans. We also have monthly happy hours during the fourth week of every month at different membership selected venues.

You can safely and securely support the DC Young Republicans by clicking on this link or the button below. In addition, you can pay your annual dues and become a member of the group by clicking here. Just follow the links and fill out the appropriate fields on the next page.

ConservativeNeighbors.com

conservativeneighbors-com

ConservativeNeighbors.com was created by passionate Davidson County voters for the purpose of providing a centralized information hub. Here you will find all the up to date information on upcoming Conservative events within the Davidson County area and also information on candidates running as Conservatives for elected office on November 2, 2010.

Over the coming weeks and months voters in Davidson County have the rare opportunity to support like minded candidates for a variety of Local, State and Federal elections. At ConservativeNeighbors.com there are four ways you can make a difference. Your involvement will help insure that Conservative Davidson County (TN) candidates ring the bell of victory in November, 2010.

1) Visit our “Coffee with Conservatives” page to find local gatherings featuring some of Tennessee’s finest Conservative voices. The page will be updated regularly so bookmark it or add it to your Favorites and check back often! When you find events close to you – perhaps in or near your precinct – make plans to attend. Not only will this give you more information about the candidates, it will help you know when and where to show your support.

2) Combine staying informed about all our Davidson County Conservative candidates (Metro/County, State and Federal) with becoming an active supporter of your favorites! Do this in one place when you join our “Join Your Precinct eList!” page and become a fan on one or all of your precinct’s social network pages. How can this help Conservative candidates in Davidson County win elections? Candidates qualified to appear on your precinct’s ballot will be asked questions and their answers will be listed there. Those candidates may also contact us and request that we notify you when yard signs, bumper stickers and such are available for you to display and show your support. Information and details on events near you will be displayed as well. There will even be the occasional notice on volunteer opportunities. Through the list of other fans on your precinct’s page you’ll be able to identify other like-minded folks in your area and coordinate your ideas and efforts to help the Conservatives on your precinct’s ballot.

Even if you don’t want to sign up for the social networks, you can still stay informed! On the “Join Your Precinct eList!” page, just opt for the email updates instead. You can even get snail-mail updated via post-card or phone updates if you prefer by calling our office number on the “Contact” page and requesting them.

3) A Voter Registration link is provided on the “Join Your Precinct eList!” page. There is also a special link to help you verify the location of and directions to your precinct’s poll.

4) Finally, share with us your ideas and suggestions as well as ask us any questions you may have by getting in touch with us via the method of your choice on our “Contact” page. We want to hear from you and will gladly pass along, free of charge, important information for Conservative candidates qualified to appear on the August and November ballots.

HealthCareFight.Org

healthcarefight-org

HealthcareFight.org is a newly-formed “citizens of faith” group that will challenge the constitutionality of the recently enacted “Healthcare Reform Act.” Many faiths, including Protestants, Jews, Greek Orthodox, Anglicans and Roman Catholics, comprise this assembly to fight the Government’s intrusion into this sacred area.

The Constitution prevents the Federal Government from enacting laws which give any religious preference to any one person over another. This is called the Establishment Clause. The Healthcare Reform Act clearly violates the Establishment Clause by allowing certain religious groups (but not others) to “opt out” of its requirements. This “opt out” provision is extended only to certain groups without regard to belief systems, spiritual views or religious practice. (1)

Moreover, the Act allows a Government bureaucrat – not even an elected official! – to decide which groups’ views meet his or her criteria in order to “opt out.” Regardless of your individual views or beliefs, one person may deem your religion unworthy of an “opt out” and then place fines or jail time upon you if you fail to comply with the Act.

In addition to violating religious freedoms, Congress has exempted themselves from Act. This special exemption violates the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. Congress gave its own members special treatment that it chose not to give the American people.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act prohibits the Federal Government from burdening the exercise of religion without a compelling interest, and requires use of the “least restrictive means.”(2) Join us in the fight against Government intrusion into our individual religious beliefs!

(1)“If the law facially discriminates among religions by conferring a benefit based upon denominational preference, Supreme Court and Sixth Circuit precedent demands that this Court treat the law as suspect. Consequently, laws that differentiate among religions are subject to strict scrutiny and must be invalidated unless it is justified by a compelling governmental interest.” Kater v Ohio, 492 F.Supp.2d 851, 859.

(2) RFRA prohibits “[g]overnment” from “substantially burden[ing]” a person’s exercise of religion even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability unless the government can demonstrate the burden “(1) is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest; and (2) is the least restrictive means of furthering that … interest.” 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb-1

Davidson County (TN) Republican Party

davidson-county-tn-republican-party

“The days of Davidson County being a one-party town are over.  The Davidson County Republican Party is energized and motivated,” says DCRP Chairman Kathleen Starnes.  “We are recruiting good candidates to run for office and are organizing the Party down to the precinct level.  We are determined to win elections.”

And that’s the message and mission of the DCRP.  Specifically, in 2010, the DCRP is working to increase the number of Republican Senators and Representatives in the 106th General Assembly of the State of Tennessee with a view toward the decennial redrawing of district lines which should strengthen the Republican member’s majorities in both bodies.  In addition, the DCRP seeks to play a significant part in helping to elect a Republican governor.  After the gubernatorial election, the DCRP’s focus will turn to the 2011 councilmatic elections.

With these goals in mind, the DCRP has developed a grassroots strategy to bring together Republicans and conservatives all throughout Davidson County. Grassroots summits are occurring in Bellevue, Goodlettsville, Antioch, Hermitage, Madison, Donelson, Green Hills, Old Hickory and Belle Meade.  Also, the DCRP is reaching out to connect with various ethnic groups, conservative leaders and area coalitions in order to share ideas, strategize and unify at special meetings.

And because it takes money to fund candidates, host grassroots gatherings and get the word out, the DCRP is also focused on raising funds through donations and special events including its annual summer barbecue and April 16, 2010 Reagan Day Dinner.

Please join us and help us elect officials who demonstrate the core values and beliefs of the DCRP and will uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

CORE VALUES & BELIEFS

1.  We affirm the traditional values of the American experience

and believe they provide an effective and constant way for the development and improvement of society.

2.  We support the free enterprise system as the primary way to grow the economy, provide jobs and encourage the creative power of the individual.

3.  A strong national defense program is necessary for the protection of a free society.

4.  We support limited government with less intrusion into the private affairs of individuals and business, including the right to keep and bear arms.

5.  We believe government should reduce spending, lower taxes and eliminate fraud and abuse.

6.  We believe our laws should be written with a fundamental respect for the sanctity and beauty of life.

The Davidson County Republican Party exists to advance and strengthen the Republican cause and values among Davidson County’s 300,000+ voters.

It is governed by a Board of 16 Executive Committee members and 8 State Executive Committee members whose overarching goal is to find, support, fund and elect qualified candidates for Local, State and Federal offices.

Fund raising for organizations with Raising It Right

Let’s face it – fund raising is no fun. It wasn’t fun when your kids brought home 87 boxes of chocolate bars for you to sell at your office for their trip to band camp and it hasn’t gotten any better now that you’re funding your trip to DC or to the state capitol to speak a little truth to the powers that be. But we do it anyway because if we don’t our organization fails and all the good we have done or might do fail with it.

Our first efforts were probably not as frustrating. Our group was new and when we asked for financial help our donors were new to us as well. It was probably even exciting to see so many people line up to be a part of what we were doing.

As time went on, however, circumstances change as they always do. More groups joined the fight meaning there were more hands reaching for the pieces of pie on the plate. How do you make sure you get enough to feed your group? Your family and friends are all proud of what you’re doing but they have financial responsibilities, too. They’d like to give each time there’s a need but they can’t. Truthfully, you can’t either or you wouldn’t be fund raising in the first place. How do you get out of your personal circle of friends and donors to new sources of funding for your group? The longer you study something the more you learn. Your first efforts were simple compared to now. You gathered 50 people and carried home made signs out in front of your Congressman’s office. Now you are coordinating 5000 people in front of 100 offices across 4 states. The issues are the same but your success and leadership require more money because anything that is alive grows. How do you meet the expanding opportunities and needs that a thriving organization is sure to have?

Raising It Right can help you meet those challenges and more. Whether we are your only provider of online fund raising or we are one of several tools you use to raise money online, our tools, promotion, low cost, ease of use and customer service make us a valuable partner in your efforts to make sure your people and projects are fully funded. If you have questions, drop us a line at info@raisingitright.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Raising It Right – online fund raising in a 3.0 world.
