* Operating Principal: Constitution-consistent government.
* Fiscal Health: (i) A ten percent reduction in all non-military spending. (ii) No new federal programs until the federal budget is in balance. (iii) Require members of Congress to participate in the same healthcare and retirement programs as other citizens. (iv) Begin the process of amending the U.S. Constitution to require a balanced federal budget.
* Employment: Reduce intrusive government regulations and tax burdens on small businesses.

Healthcare: Kill The Bill … (i) Stop ObamaCare in its tracks by tying it up in the committees writing regulations as well as starving it in the authorization (budget) process. (ii) Start over with focused, straightforward measures that improve the system by giving more power to the consumer (e.g., increase tax-free Health Savings Account allowances, eliminate pre-existing condition features of insurance plans).

Alexandra Shea Hall for Davidson County Register of Deeds

Early voting begins April 14th, and will be the start of a record breaking election for voters in Davidson County. Not since David Hall was 10 years old has there been a Republican Primary for Davidson County/Metro Elected Offices. And while that record will end with the Davidson County Republican Primary for Juvenile Court Clerk, that is not the only Davidson County Election Record coming to an end with election 2010.

Four members of the Hall family have qualified for the August Ballot. Father, David Hall is campaigning for the Republican Nomination for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional seat held by Democrat Jim Cooper. Mother, Michelle Hall will appear on the August ballot as a candidate for the State Republican Executive Committee. Son, Dave Hall, is an unchallenged candidate for the Republican Primary against State House Representative Gary Moore, in Tennessee’s 50th State House race. Daughter, Alexandra Shea Hall is an Independent candidate for Davidson County’s Register of Deeds. Alexandra is running as an Independent because the Republican Party only called a primary for the Juvenile Court Clerk race.

Four of the four Hall family members old enough to vote are running for elected office. The other three family members, too young to vote or run for office, are active in this year’s political process too. Zachry (17), Annie (15), and Noah Hall (12) have filed FEC papers establishing Do Hard Things 2010 as a Federal Political Action Committee. The youngsters have already had their first major interview published with OpenSecrets.org.

The Hall family is no stranger to politics. They have traveled nationwide working on behalf of Conservative Candidates for the past decade. Their most recent campaign experience was with David Hall’s run for Tennessee State Senate. David Hall was a strong Republican Challenger to former Democrat Caucus Chair, State Senator Joe Haynes in November of ’08. While David didn’t win the election for Senate in District 20, he did run a close enough race to motivate Joe Haynes to spend his hefty campaign coffers on his own seat instead of liberally spreading the wealth to other needy state Democratic campaigns. While David Hall’s campaign was outspent 7 to 1, he received 41% of the vote in Davidson County’s 20th State Senate District. That was a record breaking year for Republicans. Even with past Republican candidates, who were strongly backed by the party, no Republican Candidate had ever received that number of votes for State Senate District 20.

Davidson County voters will have just under 100 days to meet the Hall candidates before the 2010 ballots are cast. Their official family campaign debut will be 6:30 PM Friday, April 17th at the Davidson County Republican Party Reagan Day Dinner with Senator Corker, Representative Blackburn, Lt. Governor Ramsey, Congressman Wamp and Mayor Haslam.

Dave Rosenberg for TN State House District 50

When Dave’s friends, family, colleagues, and other acquaintances were asked to describe Dave, these are the words that they used. They’re words not often used to describe politicians and it’s no wonder – Dave is not a politician. He’s a community member, a husband and father, and a business owner. Guiding Principles

The principles with which Dave promises to represent you are both straightforward and unequivocal.

1. The people of Tennessee have the right to live their lives as they see fit, without interference from the state, except when a person’s action would infringe on the rights of others.

Personal Background

The son of an elementary school teacher and a retirement planner, Dave Rosenberg grew up acutely aware of and interested in the way the American people interacted with their government. His inquisitiveness only grew throughout his years at the University of Georgia, where as a student he took every opportunity to study the political sciences and analyze the ways in which the role of government affected the way individuals lived their lives.

It was also during this time pursuing a business degree that Dave founded Terrapin Web Design. Following graduation and while still developing his small business, Dave worked for various technology firms that took him across the country before he met his future wife, Allison, and they settled in Nashville. Dave and Allison live in their home in Bellevue with their two young sons and their chocolate lab.

As of late, Dave has been able to focus sharply on the challenges that each small business owner faces in nurturing and developing his venture while attending closely to his loved ones. Through this time, Dave’s interest in policy has continued to grow as he’s monitored the way that Tennessee’s government in general and its legislature in particular has managed its responsibilities in recent years.

My goal in taking up the banner of freedom, hope, and opportunity for every individual in the 5th Congressional district is not to represent a career, but to represent the true servant spirit that our Congress is called to. They are called to represent the ideal of Cincinnatus of Rome; the calling that we are to serve our neighbors in honor and then relinquish those reins of power so as to not be corrupted. Serve to the best of our ability and limit our own selfish desire for more power to create an environment where others are empowered to leave their own legacy of freedom, hope, and opportunity.

A colleague at work once described me as “passionate about my family, my community, and my work.” It is that passion for life and the ability to express that passion to inspire others that has brought me to you today. I’m neither an amazing genius nor some man of great wisdom. I’m just an average American with a passion to help and protect others. It is this very passion that has led me to where I stand today.

It was as a young man working summers in a metal welding shop near the public housing in Nashville, in the editors office of the local news paper in Mount Juliet, in the tobacco fields of Wilson County, or over the grills at my local McDonalds that I was convinced—with further encouragement from my father—that opportunity comes to those who work hard.

After my second year of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature on the University of Tennessee’s delegation, I was convinced that our nation was not meant to be led by career politicians. Our founding fathers did not mean for our government to become an elitist ruling class void of hope. They desired a people of conviction for the principle of the public servant—not the career politician.

The freedom, hope, and opportunity for all that God has blessed us with is not government provided. It comes from individual drive, responsibility, and perseverance. This is why my goal is to continue to take up the banner of freedom, hope, and opportunity for every individual in the 5th Congressional district no matter your race, creed, preference, or national origin. Sheila Butt for TN State House District 64

“I’m ready to serve the citizens of the county that has been my home for the last 25 years,” said Butt. “This district needs an effective leader that will help improve our schools and create much-needed jobs. People are hurting and they are seeking true conservative leaders who will limit government and protect their constitutional rights. Sheila has a great deal of experience in private sector business. She was co-founder and managing editor for S&S Bovine Images, a company that marketed and promoted the Tennessee Cattle industry. She was also co-founder and Managing Editor for Tennessee Cattle Business, the official publication of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association that has become the premier magazine for the cattle industry of Tennessee. In addition, Sheila was a managing partner in McInk Printers in Columbia, taking on the responsibility of the company’s daily operations.

“My professional background and community involvement have given me a significant understanding of the value of small business and the need to bring long-term economic growth to District 64. Our area is facing double digit unemployment and Maury County residents want a representative who will promote policies to create jobs and strengthen our local economy. Sheila has worked diligently to promote conservative principles through involvement in a number of organizations such as the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, and Tennessee Right to Life. She is also a member of the National Rifle Association as well as the Tennessee Firearms Association and exercises her Second Amendment right by carrying her own Tennessee handgun permit.

In addition to conservative advocacy and extensive business experience, Sheila is also an active member of the Anderson Bend Church of Christ, the Maury Alliance, The Fraternal Order of Police and has served as secretary for the Maury County Horseman’s Association. She’s also an established author of books on parenting as well as books for teenage girls and is often asked to lecture on those topics. She has taught in the Horizons Program at Freed-Hardeman University for nineteen years and was awarded the Kaye Battles Service Award from Freed-Hardeman in 2004. Sheila began her college career majoring in Political Science and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in English with a minor in History from East Tennessee State University. She has done graduate work at David Lipscomb University.

Tim Lee for TN State House District 55

As your representative, I will work to give you choices. I will work to apply common sense principles to fix the problems facing our state, especially those in healthcare, education and the state economy.

The Health care system is draining our economy. We all understand that our current Healthcare system is broke and needs immediate attention, but this is not a federal issue it is a state issue. The 10th amendment of the United States Constitution ensures our state rights. Any Tennessee State Representative that is in favor of what Congress is doing in DC is in violation of their sworn oath to adhere to the US Constitution and the Tennessee Constitution. Congress is not listening to the people but to lobbyist. I work in a local emergency room and see a major problem. When a family comes into the Emergency Room for a prescription for children’s Motrin because TennCare will pay for it, the state is paying three times more than for a doctor’s office visit. We have a problem. When a patient with a cold comes into the Emergency Room and says he doesn’t want to wait at the doctor’s office, it costs the state double or triples what the doctor’s visit would have cost. We have a problem. When our elderly have to be admitted to the hospital because they could not get their medications we have a problem. Some people who can get healthcare don’t because of cost. We have a problem. Other people can’t get any healthcare. We have a problem. The federal and state governments must address our healthcare problems but in different ways. It’s the only way to reduce the cost of HealthCare and improve everyone’s quality of life.

The economy is another issue that concerns me. Over the next 2 years many tough choices will have to be made regarding our state economy. One easy solution is a state income tax but this is not a solution but a larger problem. I will say that under no circumstance will I ever support a state income tax. Many will look at this as a solution to the economic shortfalls that we are experiencing. This will only create a larger burden on the citizens of Tennessee. Tennessee government needs to cut the fat in every department and even then it may not be enough. The fact is this emergency is because the state budget has increased 34 percent in six years. Tennessee’s emergency is due to irresponsible spending and poor judgment from our elected officials. I believe that spending on a promissory note is bad business and we must not continue this irresponsible behavior. I believe in lowering our taxes and cutting excessive spending out of our state government.

I am a firm believer in state and individual rights and our rights are rapidly being stripped away by our elected officials. I believe we need choices in healthcare. I believe we need solid choices in education. No child should be penalized because their parents are financial strapped and are unable to afford private school. We must find answers for failing schools. Here in Davidson County our schools receive less money per pupil than our neighboring counties. In our district we have failing schools which mean we are failing our children. Our future depends on changing this around. I believe we know what is best for us and one thing we can do is vote for someone that believes as you do.

I believe in the U.S. Constitution, including the 10th amendment. The question you need to ask is, Does your current Representative?
